After replaying in an official match with his club Al-Ittihad, Karim Benzema took the opportunity to answer questions about his situation.

The imbroglio lasted a few weeks before settling down. While he was expected to return at the beginning of February, Karim Benzema took more time to return to Saudi Arabia, mentioning in particular the cyclone which had prevented him from leaving Mauritius where he was then for his vacation. An official explanation which, if it had not convinced many people, had at least had the merit of calming the situation in the eyes of the general public. Deprived of training in Dubai immediately, the Frenchman finally played again for Al-Ittihad. And he even spoke to the media.

In remarks relayed on Saturday by the Dailymail, the 2022 Ballon d’Or therefore affirmed that the affair was in fact not one and that all this now belonged to the past. “ I’m back and now I’m better. This story about me leaving is false and I am very happy in Saudi Arabia. » The former Real Madrid player also wanted to clarify things regarding his relationship with his coach, Marcelo Gallardo.

No problem

I have no problem with Gallardo and everyone who says I want to come back to Europe is a liar. I am very happy at Al-Ittihad. » Then Benzema concluded: “ As far as I’m concerned, I have no problem with anyone. Ask the coach about my absence. I was ready to participate in the internship in Dubai. » Unfortunate scorer against his side two days ago, during the round of 16 second leg of the Asian Champions League against Namangan, “KB9” however offered a decisive pass which contributed to the victory of his team (2-1 ).

Like Karim Benzema, the various protagonists of the story put water in their wine so that the tension evaporates. While waiting for the quarter-finals of the LoC which Al-Ittihad will play against Al-Hilal, Benzema will now help his team move up the Saudi Pro League rankings. For now, Al-Ittihad is in a disappointing fifth place, fifteen points behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Al-Nassr, but above all twenty-two points behind the leader: Al-Hilal.
