Erik ten Hag admitted Antony “did not show his great potential” at Manchester United and opened the door for Amad Diallo to take his place.
The Dutch manager, who also worked with Antony at Ajax, admitted the Brazilian struggled to live up to expectations at Old Trafford. Antony, who cost United £85million when he joined the club in 2022, has also been warned he could now find himself behind Amad Diallo and 19-year-old Omari Forson in United’s attacking hierarchy.
Ten Hag told reporters that Antony’s current position in the team is as follows: “He has to prove something, and that’s what he will do. He has great potential. Fierce competition

Amad and Forson have only made one appearance in the Premier League this season. While the former Sunderland player appeared against Norwich City in December, Forson made his league debut against Wolves earlier this month.
