At a press conference this Friday, the day before the match against Leipzig in the Bundesliga, the 50-year-old coach tried to explain in part why the mayonnaise did not take.
“We spoke on Tuesday and informed the team of the decision on Wednesday. (…) We are unhappy with the way we are playing, the points we have obtained and the three recent defeats,” Tuchel said.
Tuchel does not abandon Bayern
“There is no single culprit,” said the Bavarian. If the coach was the only one to blame, I wouldn’t be sitting here today. But I take my responsibilities. The development of our game, the results, are not up to what I had imagined. »
Despite his imminent departure, the former manager of Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain wanted to affirm his commitment to his team. “Leading under these circumstances? It’s simple. Because we love football and we love what we do,” he said.
And added: “For me, it never mattered whether I had a 5-year contract or a 5-week contract, a big contract or a small contract. All that matters is the present moment. The circumstances are new, but that doesn’t matter. I love my work and I will of course do it with the same energy as before.
