About to arrive free at Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappé should accept a salary much lower than that he receives at PSG. But the Bondynois could make up for it with a colossal signing bonus.
The financial puzzle is being formed around the arrival of Kylian Mbappé at Real Madrid. While the Frenchman announced to Paris Saint-Germain that he would leave the club next June at the end of his contract, the question now is to know when his signing at Real will be made official, and above all what will be the amount of his emoluments .
One thing seems certain: after the about-face in spring 2022, Real Madrid no longer really seems inclined to offer a golden bridge to the Bondynois. If Mbappé does indeed want to join the White House, he will have to agree to receive significantly less money than at Paris Saint-Germain. The leaders of the Merengues indeed want the Frenchman to be integrated into the club’s salary scale, and Marca mentioned an annual salary of between 15 and 20 million euros, close to those of Vinicius Jr and Jude Bellingham.
A bonus of 150 million euros in his contract
The BBC confirms this trend, through the writing of its Spanish journalist Guilem Balague. But according to the English media, which for its part speaks of a salary of 15 million euros per year, Mbappé should recover part of the shortfall with an XXL signing bonus (and by retaining part of his rights to ‘picture). According to the BBC, a bonus of 150 million euros is planned for the Frenchman, and should be spread over the five years of his contract. Enough to increase his annual salary by 30 million euros, so to speak.
Note, still according to the BBC, the agreement between Mbappé and Real Madrid is already sealed. However, his arrival could only be announced once we know that PSG and Real cannot face each other in the Champions League this season, i.e. after the elimination of one of the two clubs.
