After having made very laudatory remarks about Marco Verratti and Javier Pastore, Hazard also stood out by affirming that Lionel Messi was the only player superior to him during his career. A point of view which says a lot about the esteem that the Belgian has for the Argentinian.

Eden Hazard once again spoke out in an interview with John Obi Mikel, for his former Chelsea teammate’s podcast. The Nigerian called on Hazard to reveal who he preferred between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. And the Belgian’s response came forth. “For me, it’s Messi. People have different opinions. Ronaldo is an incredible goalscorer, but I prefer Messi’s style of play.”decided the former attacking midfielder.
For the record, Eden Hazard could have identified with Cristiano Ronaldo since after his signing for Real Madrid, the Belgian had recovered the legendary number 7 of the Portuguese, who became the top scorer in the history of the White House. But like Karim Benzema, Hazard does not seem to stop at the statistical aspect in his approach to football.
