Italian coach Roberto De Zerbi is ready to decline FC Barcelona’s proposal. Because he has other priorities.
Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi admits his big ambition is to return to coaching in the Italian Serie A. FC Barcelona and Liverpool would have him in their sights, but for him it is a return to the fold which emerges as the preferential option.
“I love my country, I love Italian football. One of my goals is to return to my home country, but I don’t know when that time will arrive. I feel good in the Premier League and I have to thank Brighton and all the other Premier League managers for that,” he told Sky Sports.
De Zerbi is ready to wait
De Zerbi is nevertheless not indifferent to the interest shown in him by the continental giants. “When I hear that the big clubs are interested in me, it’s an honor, I’m proud. But I focus on daily work. As for the future, we have to talk with the owner and with the club, because I want to be competitive in the best possible way and understand the plan,” De Zerbi told Sky Sports.
“In this case, it’s not a problem to be in a big team. In my career, I would like to compete for the Premier League, Serie A, Bundesliga, La Liga and the Champions League. But sometimes you have to know how to wait.”
