Thanks to a double from its untenable scorer Rasmus Hojlund, Manchester United scored a fourth victory in the Premier League, Sunday at Luton (1-2), to return to the retro of 5th, Tottenham.

After a failed first part of the season, with already nine defeats in the Premier League, Manchester United suddenly began to dream of a great end to the season and a European qualification that goes with it. The Red Devils have had a fourth victory in a row against Luton Town (1-2) and, if they are still five points behind Aston Villa, the 4th, they are three lengths behind Tottenham, the 5th.

Erik ten Hag was once again able to count on Rasmus Hojlund, definitely in great form. The Danish center forward scored twice at the start of the match in North London, following a loss of the opponent’s ball after 30 seconds and deflecting a shot from Alejandro Garnacho (7th). At 21, he became the youngest player in the history of the championship to score in six consecutive matches!

United miraculously

Luton Town reduced the gap immediately thanks to Carlton Morris (14th) and the match then changed: the Mancunian team suffered greatly, Harry Maguire and Casemiro, catastrophic and warned, gave up their place at half-time. The Hatters were unable to equalize and, at the other end of the pitch, Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes wasted numerous opportunities. Luton even missed one last opportunity with a header from Ross Barkley on the bar (94th).

In any case, United are currently sixth in the PL and will try to continue their good run against Fulham next weekend. Note that a victory for Liverpool in the EFL Cup final against Chelsea next Sunday will give sixth place in the championship a ticket to the Conference League.
