Jim Ratcliffe and his team of INEOS investors have been on all decks since arriving at Manchester United. Already on issues such as the search for a new sporting director, the English billionaire wants to look into the case of an aging Old Trafford stadium. There would be talk of a reconstruction on a ground next to United’s current stadium according to the Daily Mail. A project that is also intended to be rapid, since Jim Ratcliffe’s clan would like it to be completed within five years.
The aim for Manchester United is to build a “Wembley of the North” by significantly expanding the capacity of the stadium. Currently, Old Trafford can accommodate 74,310 spectators, with its new stadium, the Reds Devils would like to increase the capacity to 90,000. In addition to the stadium, the club wants a 5-star hotel and facilities to accommodate travelers from all over the world , such as attractions bearing the image of the club. All of this comes at a price, as part of a full stadium rebuild it could cost over £2 billion.
