Looking for a sporting director to structure the club in its recruitment, Manchester United wants to call on Dan Ashworth, currently at Newcastle. According to The Athletic, the 52-year-old Englishman announced to his club that he had been approached by Manchester United to become sporting director. Under contract, Dan Ashworth cannot engage as he wants with the Mancuniens. The latter will probably have to pay significant financial compensation to obtain its services. No formal contact has yet taken place between the clubs.

Dan Ashworth is considered the best in the business by new Man United co-owner Jim Ratcliffe. If the Red Devils manage to enlist Newcastle’s sporting director, they will get their hands on an exceptional sporting director. Since 2022, he has been at the head of the construction of the Magpies team, notably with the purchases of Anthony Gordon, Alexander Isak and Sven Botman. Before that, he officiated at West Bromwich Albion and Brighton, where he was already credited with great qualities.
