Traveling to Germany to face Leipzig on Tuesday in the round of 16 first leg of the Champions League, Real Madrid had a strange start.
The Madrilenians will remember their trip to Leipzig. Expected by the RB to play their round of 16 first leg of the Champions League on Tuesday evening, Real encountered a small setback on the road to their place of stay.
The German media Bild reports that the bus carrying the Merengues was hit by another vehicle on the highway – an incident which led to the immobilization of Carlo Ancelotti’s men, while the authorities in particular noted the damage.
A strike at the origin of this mishap
On arrival, there were a few scratches on the body of the Real Madrid coach, the Toyota involved in the accident having suffered more. The players did not have to get off the bus. And the Spanish delegation was able to arrive safely in the afternoon, just an hour and a half late.
Ironically, the Madrilenians should not have followed this route between Erfurt airport and their hotel. Real were to fly directly to Leipzig but a strike disrupted the initial plan. More fear than harm in the end.
