Fine connoisseurs of the Italian market, Pablo Longoria and Javier Ribalta have checked the name of Matteo Lovato, a central defender from La Salernitana, to strengthen the workforce of Olympique de Marseille for next season.

Following a mixed exercise, during which OM did not fulfill their objectives, whether in the Champions League, L1 or the Coupe de France, the Marseille club wants to build a squad capable of shining on all fronts. . For this, Pablo Longoria has decided to give the keys to the truck to Marcelino, the Spanish coach having officially taken the place of Igor Tudor this week when training resumed. But to fulfill all his wishes, the former Valencia coach wants to see the arrival of several recruits during this summer transfer window. After recruiting Geoffrey Kondogbia for 8 million euros, OM intends to strengthen their attack and defense. History to compensate for the free departure of Sead Kolasinac and the return of loan of Eric Bailly, Marseille wishes in particular to recruit a central defender. And to find happiness, the Olympian club could well take the direction of Serie A. Indeed, according to information from the media Il Mattino, Matteo Lovato is currently in the sights of Pablo Longoria.

Longoria targets Lovato, La Salernitana says no

Transferred from Atalanta Bergamo to Salernitana for 7 million euros in July 2022, the 23-year-old is coming off a great season in Serie A. It is therefore for this reason that the Italian international hopeful also has other courtiers than Marseilles during this summer. Despite everything, his club does not want to let him go. Not having an exit voucher, Lovato will therefore have to find a solution if he wants to leave for a bigger club. Suffice to say that if OM really want the central defender, they will have to make an irrefusable offer, around 10 million euros. Not sure that Longoria will want to break the bank on a position where Marcelino is still well supplied, with Chancel Mbemba, Samuel Gigot, Leonardo Balerdi or Isaak Touré.
