Youth League: Nantes in the eighth

The FCN won its place in the round of 16 of the Youth League this Wednesday evening.

The Canaries U19 validated their ticket at the expense of Sevilla FC, after a crazy match concluded on penalties (3-3, 3 tab to 2).

Thanks to an own goal from Spanish defender Sergio Martinez Macias (51e) and two achievements by Exaucé Mafoumbi M’Badinga (63e and 66e), the young Nantes players led 3-0 in this game before breaking three times in eight minutes, with a goal from Ivan Salguero (69e), a csc from Taigy Dugard (75e) and a banderilla planted by Alberto Collado from the penalty spot (77e).

Some 13,400 spectators gathered at Beaujoire – including Jocelyn Gourvennec and his staff – ended up exulting nevertheless, Nantes joining Lens at the eighth stage of this Youth League. The draw will take place this Friday in Nyon.
