Soon any change on the French team side? It is possible since the FFF will launch a call for tenders to equipment manufacturers next April.
It is not yet time for change, but the French Football Federation is still preparing to launch operations. Next April, the body will launch a call for tenders to equipment manufacturers wishing to see their brand displayed on the jersey and the various items of clothing worn by the players of the French football team. Currently under contract with Nike until 2026, the FFF hopes to sign a contract at least than the one which currently binds it with the comma brand.
The partnership with Nike has lasted since 2011. After a first lease which ran until 2018, a new agreement was found, with an annual income of more than fifty million euros per year for the French Football Federation. In April, it will therefore be time to see if the pair continues on their common path or if a new equipment manufacturer will be able to find the hard-hitting arguments sufficient to sway the FFF in its direction.
The FFF hopes
According to information from The Team disclosed this Wednesday, the governing body of French football hopes once again to raise the stakes between the different candidates. These include Nike, Adidas and Puma. Obviously, the good results of the Blues since the premature exit from Euro 2021 work in favor of the FFF. World champions in 2018, winners of the 2021 Nations League and finalists of the 2022 World Cup, the Blues have strong arguments to put forward.
If the call for tenders is therefore imminent, potential equipment manufacturers will necessarily have an eye on what Didier Deschamps’ men will offer during Euro 2024 which will take place this summer in Germany. A good run from France could convince them to take the plunge. A bad Euro for the Blues, on the other hand, would allow them to negotiate a little downward. To be continued.
