Deprived of many players a week before facing PSG, Real Sociedad did not score against Mallorca on Tuesday evening in the semi-final first leg of the Copa del Rey (0-0).
One week before the round of 16 first leg of the Champions League against PSG, Wednesday February 14 at the Parc des Princes, Real Sociedad is hard to see. The San Sebastian team is deprived of its defenders Aritz Elustondo, Kieran Tierney, Aihen Munoz and Alvaro Odriozola and, worse, its offensive leader Mikel Oyarzabal and the winger who arrived this winter Sheraldo Becker were injured during the last La Liga meeting against Girona.
Without these many unavailable players but with the return of selection of Hamari Traoré and Takefusa Kubo, the formation of Alguacil Imanol did not manage to beat Mallorca (0-0), Tuesday evening in the Balearic Islands, in the semi-final first leg of the Copa del Rey (return match on February 27 in Anoeta).
Sadiq’s failure
Ander Barrenetxea (53rd) and especially Umar Sadiq (71st), Real’s starting center forward, were unable to realize certain opportunities. The Nigerian player was replaced by Portuguese striker André Silva for the end of the match.
Real Sociedad, sixth in the La Liga standings, will host Osasuna, 12th, on Saturday afternoon (4 p.m.), before preparing their trip to the French capital to challenge Kylian Mbappé and others.
