A little over a week before their trip to the Parc des Princes, Real Sociedad took stock of their infirmary.
We have become accustomed in recent years to seeing Paris Saint-Germain hit by injuries to some of its executives, during the round of 16 of the Champions League. For once, it is on the side of the capital club’s opponent, Real Sociedad, that the infirmary is currently very full.
The Basque club also communicated this Monday morning about its weekend injuries. The news is not good for striker Carlos Fernandez, injured in the meniscus and forced to undergo surgery, who will be absent for several weeks. Right-back Alvaro Odriozola also suffers from a hyperextended right knee, while rookie Sheraldo Becker suffers a thigh injury.
Kubo returns
For these three players, Real Sociedad does not give any return timeframe. But we can already note Carlos Fernandez as a package for the trip to Paris. This is also the case for left-backs Aihen Munoz and Kieran Tierney, which led the Basque club to urgently recruit Javi Galan (Atlético).
Odriozola can be considered uncertain for the duel against PSG, at least, just like Becker, for the moment. On the other hand, the news is rather good for captain Mikel Oyarzabal, who was released early this weekend in La Liga, after receiving a knock. And Real Sociedad will be able to recover its internationals Take Kubo and Hamari Traoré, eliminated from the CAN and the Asian Cup.
