Morocco coach Walid Regragui now knows what his future will hold.

Walid Regragui’s adventure at the head of the Moroccan national team continues. Despite the failure at CAN 2023 (elimination at the round of 16 stage), the young technician has just been confirmed in his role.

The Moroccan Federation (FRMF) published a press release in which it indicated that it favored stability. After consultation with the main interested party, it was therefore decided not to change anything at the technical bar.

Regragui changed his mind

Regragui remains in his post even though he himself declared that if the objective of the last four at the CAN was not achieved then he would leave of his own accord.

Regragui’s main mission from now on is to qualify the Atlas Lions for the 2026 World Cup. His officials also hope that he succeeds in offering his country its first African Cup of Nations since 1978. Especially since the upcoming edition will be played at home next year.

As a reminder, last year, Regragui achieved the feat of guiding the North African team to the semi-finals of the Qatari World Cup. A performance never before achieved by an African selection.
