Winner of Olympique de Marseille, Olympique Lyonnais is smiling again. Jean-Michel Aulas appreciated…

The new Olympique Lyonnais has arrived. This is the message broadcast between Rhône and Saône on Sunday, after the shock against Olympique de Marseille, Gones’ first match since the end of the winter transfer window. A match which saw several winter recruits start the match like Nemanja Matic or Gift Orban.

Falling back into its shortcomings during its two previous outings at Le Havre and against Rennes, OL showed a completely different side against OM and won 1-0 thanks to Alexandre Lacazette. Enough to allow him to leave the red zone and go back to 15e place now three points ahead of Metz, currently in the play-off.

There were smiles in the Lyon ranks at the end of the match and Pierre Sage’s men were able to raise their cry of victory – the fifth of the season – in the locker room, led by the young Sael Kumbedi. A sequence immortalized by John Textor, coming down from the presidential stand, and relayed by Jean-Michel Aulas, who seems to have particularly enjoyed this success of the Rhone residents.

“This is the real start of the adventure made by John and Eagle: I wish you the best for our OL and all its supporters. THANKS “, he wrote on X, formerly Twitter, while his successor at the head of OL wanted to be more measured by writing “Step by step… Go OL!!!”
