Olympique Lyonnais experienced a very eventful last day of the transfer window. Les Gones thought they would secure the services of two final recruits before the deadline, but they only obtained one. If they completed the signing of Orel Mangala, they did not manage to sign Said Benrahma.
West Ham failed to complete paperwork on time
The transfer of the Algerian international collapsed at the last moment. West Ham, the club where the former Nice player plays, did not send the documents on time. However, everything was signed between the different parties concerned.
The Hammers forgot to enter TMS, the FIFA transfer software. And this is why the loan of 5 million euros, with a purchase option for 15 million euros, could not come to fruition. An outcome which is reminiscent of that experienced by PSG a year ago with the Moroccan Hakim Ziyech.
OL and Benrahma still hope
OL does not yet completely have the idea of welcoming Benrahma. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Rhone club should contact FIFA in the hope that they will be granted an exemption. However, it is unlikely that this appeal will bear fruit.
