José Mourinho is very motivated to join a club he has already managed in the past.
Free since he was sacked by AS Roma, José Mourinho is currently cited as a potential future coach of Barcelona to replace Xavi. A beautiful destination but not the one that attracts him the most.
Mourinho towards a return to England?
Mourinho has certainly always dreamed of Barça, even if he already had a brief stint there as Bobby Robson’s translator (1996/1997). However, if he had the choice it is not towards this club that he would head. He rather wants to return to England and take charge of Manchester United once again.
According to Mike Keegan of the Daily Mail, The Special One would be very happy to have a second experience on the bench of the Red Devils. Despite the awkward way things ended in the North West of England, he is ready to try his luck again with MU.
Mourinho reportedly feels he will have “infinite work” at this club. Even though he is no longer very young, he would even have “made it his mission” to return one day or another to Old Trafford and erase the bad image he left there.
As a reminder, Mourinho is the coach who gave MU its last European title. It was the Europa League in 2016/2017.
