AC Milan have reportedly chosen to part ways with Stefano Pioli and appoint Antonio Conte in his place next summer.
The media TeleLombardia claims that Antonio Conte has accepted the conditions proposed by Milan and that he will be their coach next season.
Tale of return to Lombardy
There had already been widespread reports that the Rossoneri were interested in the former Squadra boss and that he was speaking directly with the club’s senior advisor, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
On Monday evening, transfer specialist Luca Momblano assured that Conte had accepted the proposal from the club’s owners, Red Bird, and that he would take up his duties from next season.
Conte took a sabbatical this season to focus on his family, rejecting an offer from Napoli in October because he wanted to take time off. He had terminated his contract with Tottenham Hotspur by mutual consent in March 2023.
It would be a return to San Siro for the Italian, who won the Scudetto with Inter in 2021. Before that, he was a Juventus icon, both as a player and manager, then left Turinese to lead Italy for two years.
