The former French international does not believe at all in the theory according to which Jonathan Claus is trying to take it easy for the Euro.
Olympique de Marseille have put Jonathan Clauss on the transfer list this winter. According to certain sources well informed about the matter, it would be because of the nonchalant attitude of the player. The latter would not give his all on the field.
Rothen doesn’t think Clauss is that stupid
Anxious to compete in the Euro with the France team, the former Lensois would be too cautious on the pitch. At the slightest physical alert, he asks to be replaced. And this is why the Olympian management would seek to exfiltrate him by Thursday evening midnight.
This theory did not convince Jérôme Rothen at all. For the latter, if this is really the reason why OM wants to let Clauss go then it is a false excuse.
“So he would have ticked off the Euro matches and the dates. And he is telling himself which matches he should play fully or half-heartedly. I don’t believe at all what the Olympian leaders are saying. We have seen his journey and we know him. He is an international player. You really think he’s going to give up, and that he doesn’t want to end the year like a cannonball to guarantee himself a place at the Euro and aim for a transfer. He would be so stupid that he would manage himself one year from the end of his contract,” railed Rothen on RMC Sport.
