Jonathan Clauss left injured and in tears during the first act of the clash between OM and AS Monaco (2-2), Saturday evening in Ligue 1.

The images suggest the worst… Starting in the draw between Olympique de Marseille and AS Monaco (2-2), Saturday evening at the Stade Vélodrome, on behalf of the 19th day of Ligue 1, Jonathan Clauss had to leaving partners prematurely.

Obviously injured in a knee, the French international (10 caps, 1 goal) gave way to Emran Soglo in the 35th minute of play. The former Lens player then burst into tears on the sidelines. Something to worry Marseille supporters as well as their coach Gennaro Gattuso.

“I have to trust the player and the doctors”

At the final whistle, the Italian technician gave news of his right side. If he did not give more information on the nature of the player’s injury, he was rather reassuring about his state of health. “I have to trust the player and the doctors. A priori, it’s not something serious”declared Gattuso in a post-match press conference.

As a reminder, OM is already orphaned by Valentin Rongier, Samuel Gigot, Bilal Nadir and Michael Murillo, all injured. Not to mention its players who left to compete in CAN 2024 in Ivory Coast.
