Nice is moving forward

The Niçois got the better of the Messins this Saturday to consolidate their place on the Ligue 1 podium (1-0).

Beaten in Rennes two weeks ago, Nice returned to winning ways this Saturday for the 19e lifting of Ligue 1. It was at the expense of Metz that the Aiglons won, by the smallest of margins and a penalty converted by Guessand at the end of the match (1-0, 76e).

A narrow victory, therefore, but logical given the domination of the Riviera already assured of concluding the weekend in second position in the elite, provisionally five lengths behind the Parisian leader. Brest and Monaco, who must do battle with PSG and OM, are currently pushed back to four and five units.

The Garnets, for their part, remain in danger, at the gates of the red zone, on 15e rank. Just in front of OL, defeated the day before by Rennes (2-3) and under direct threat from Clermont.
