In front of their home crowd, the Andalusian club hoped to finally secure their first victory of the season after having flirted with 3 points the previous day against Real Madrid, current leader of the Spanish championship. At the end of a meeting which will have caused a lot of ink to flow over the last few days on the other side of the Pyrenees, Gaizka Garitano’s men tried to take the game into their own hands before being surprised in the 10th minute of game by the opening score of Omorodion (0-1).

Before the break, the Andalusians had the opportunity to get back into the game but Embarba came up against the vigilance of Sivera (44th). Returning from the locker room, the Basques started the second to take cover, Rioja scoring the break goal (0-2, 52nd). Unable to catch up, the Andalusians conceded a third goal in the final moments of the game, with Omorion scoring twice (0-3, 88th). With this umpteenth poor performance, Almeria remains in last place in the championship. Opposite, Alaves continues with a second consecutive success and climbs to 11th place.
