Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, dared to taunt the Mancunian rival following a change in the organization chart.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has joked about Omar Berrada leaving for rivals Manchester United.
Guardiola congratulates Manchester United
Berrada left City as director of football to become chief executive of United. A defection which apparently did not really bother the Catalan coach: “Obviously his knowledge is going to go to United, that’s the reality. When you buy a player from another club, you are buying the knowledge that player has gained in the past with other managers and teammates. It’s normal. We will adapt, we will adjust and we will move forward.”
Guardiola even took the liberty of attacking the former employee of the club and the Red Devils: “But Kevin de Bruyne is still at Manchester City. De Bruyne will play here. Erling Haaland will play here. In the end, it’s not that simple. Maybe United think that with this person everything will change – congratulations. I don’t know if that’s going to happen. If this is the case, they will have to take a stand for Omar Berrada because he deserves it.”
