For the German coach, fatigue and weariness obviously played a big role in this decision. He also wanted to reassure Reds fans, they will not see him on another Premier League bench.
“What I know for sure is that I will never, ever manage any other club in England than Liverpool, 100 per cent. It is not possible. My love for this club, my respect for the people is too great. I will not be able. I couldn’t think about it for a second. There’s no chance”, he explained to the club’s official website. He also added that he would not immediately return to the sidelines. “I won’t manage a club or a country for at least a year, it’s not possible, I can’t do that and I don’t want to.”
