On Wednesday, the president of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) announced the departure of coach Djamel Belmadi. He did not “survive” elimination in the first round of the African Cup of Nations. “We have reached an amicable agreement to end our relationship”wrote the boss of the FAF, Walid Sadi, on his X account.
According to The Team, the Algerian Football Federation would already have a favorite to succeed Belmadi. This is Hervé Renard, under contract with the FFF and stationed with the French women’s team until the Paris Olympics. “I am under contract with the French Federation until next August. In the past, Hervé Renard has already distinguished himself by winning the African Cup of Nations twice. In 2012 with Zambia and in 2015 at the helm of Ivory Coast.
