Cameroon is madness!

Overthrown by Gambia, and virtually eliminated, Cameroon ended up winning a crazy match (3-2) and clinched its ticket to the round of 16 of the CAN.

Cameroonian supporters went through all the emotions this Tuesday, in a decisive match where the Indomitable Lions ended up coming out on top, to their pride, against an amazing team from Gambia (3-2).

Everything started well for the Cameroonians, with Rigobert Song rewarded by his choices. Preferred over André Onana, Fabrice Ondoa had multiplied the parades in the first period, and the Lions executives responded, with a cross from André-Frank Zambo Anguissa for the head of Karl Toko Ekambi (1-0, 56th).

Who is the hero? It’s Wooh!

But it was in the finale that this meeting descended into madness. Messin Ablie Jallow equalized (1-1, 72nd) and after a strike on the bar from Toko Ekambi (76th), the second for the Cameroonians after that of Georges-Kevin Nkoudou (50th), Gambia took the advantage by Ebrima Colley, after a magnificent one-two (1-2, 85th).

At that point, Cameroon was virtually eliminated and Gambia qualified. But around thirty seconds after the start, a CSC put the two teams back on level terms (2-2, 87th). And Rennais Christophe Wooh came to place his head on a corner for a goal that was as decisive as it was liberating (3-2, 90th+1).

There will be another crazy moment, with a hand goal for Gambia, logically canceled by the VAR (90th + 3). But on arrival, Cameroon held its qualification for the round of 16 well, and even stole second place from Guinea, which was beaten by Senegal (2-0) on goals from Abdoulaye Seck (61st) and Iliman Ndiaye (90th). Miraculous!
