OM is on the verge of completing a new arrival during this winter transfer window. One more reinforcement in defense.

After a sluggish start to the transfer window, OM and its leaders are moving up a gear in terms of recruitment. After completing the signing of Cameroonian striker Faris Moumbagna during the weekend, the Phocaeans should finalize the arrival of a left back.

OM cast a wide net for the left-back position

The side in question is Quentin Merlin, the member of FC Nantes. Information from Foot Mercato reports an agreement already reached between the club and the player. All that remains now is to reach an agreement with the management of the Canaries.

As Nantes are in a fight to maintain their position, it would still be surprising to see them part ways with one of their best elements in the middle of the exercise. OM will have to be very persuasive on a financial level to be able to complete the file. However, the deal is still on track according to sources close to the club.

Gennaro Gattuso obtained several reinforcements during the transfer window.

If he arrives in Marseille, Merlin will be in competition with Ulisses Garcia, the Swiss player who arrived at the club last week. For this position, Adrien Truffert and Nuno Tavares were also targeted. Even if they have not yet been completely abandoned, these avenues are unlikely to materialize.
