Having left to try his luck in Turkey, French goalkeeper Paul Bernardoni experienced a real nightmare.

Last summer, Paul Bernardoni left Angers to discover the Turkish championship, where he had joined Konyaspor. But after only 17 matches played in his new colors, the 26-year-old French goalkeeper decided to end his contract to join Switzerland, having experienced a real nightmare in Turkey.

“On a sporting level, I was able to play 17 matches but on a human level, it was terrible. Already, and too bad if it makes you smile, but my dog, who has been with me since the start of my career, was poisoned. It was during a walk with my wife. There are a lot of stray dogs there and people don’t really like it…”Bernardoni confided to Parisian.

“I haven’t been paid once normally”

And to add: “The death of my dog accentuated my desire to quickly leave this country. To be completely transparent, I have not been paid once normally, with the monthly salary stipulated in my contract. I got paid twice. The first after the intervention of FIFA and the second when terminating my contract. For the first two months, I didn’t get anything. » Bernardoni now plays in the Swiss championship, at Yverdon Sport FC.
