Determined to clean up his locker room, the leaders of PSG have agreed to sell Leandro Paredes to Galatasaray. But, Paris was not very greedy for the Argentine world champion.

In the last days of the 2019 winter transfer window, Paris Saint-Germain brought Leandro Paredes from Zénith Saint-Petersburg for the tidy sum of 40 million euros and a salary of 9 million euros per year. However, the Argentine midfielder never lived up to expectations, even though he was there in some Champions League games. First benched, then loaned last year to Juventus, Paredes became world champion with Argentina in Qatar, but that did not change his status with the Old Lady. One year from the end of his contract at PSG, the native of San Justo will not return to the Parc des Princes, since this Friday the media DAZN announces that an agreement has been reached for a transfer to Galatasaray.

To reach an agreement with the Istanbul club, the leaders of Paris Saint-Germain would however have accepted an offer of 3.8 million euros. A relatively ridiculous price, but which allows the champions of France to relieve themselves of a large salary and to make room in the locker room. This decision to let Leandro Paredes go was validated by Luis Enrique, the future PSG coach being consulted on each of the choices to be made during this transfer window, especially in the direction of departures. For the Argentinian midfielder, who is coming out of a failed season with Juventus, this departure to Turkey is a chance to revive. At 29, his career is not over, far from it. All the qualities shown when he was in Russia must however reappear after a few seasons of break.
