Barça coach Xavi made strong comments regarding his (fragile) personal situation.
Xavi is aware that he will not stay at Barça for too long. He is even already starting to prepare for a break with his favorite club.
Xavi is ready to give up his place
Ahead of facing the Unionistas in the Copa del Rey on Thursday night, Xavi spoke about his position as his position comes under increasing threat. “If we don’t win and we don’t get titles, there will be consequences, but since we won and we got titles, I’m still here. If I hadn’t won La Liga last year, I wouldn’t be here today.” he revealed.
The Catalan technician also suggested that he would throw in the towel if Barça fails against Naples in the round of 16 of the C1. “I always said what the objectives were. The first, this year, was to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League and it was achieved. If this goal is not achieved, we will return home. But as with all coaches, I’m not the only one who is concerned.”
Finally, Xavi affirmed that he will accept the sentence of his management if it ever shows him the exit door. “I will never be a problem for Barça. Above all, I’m culé and I love this club. Whatever happens. I am here to provide something extra and to help. When they tell me that I am no longer bringing anything, I will go home without any problem.”
