It’s officially over as of Tuesday morning. In difficulty since the start of the season at the head of AS Rome, José Mourinho had not managed to turn around the capital club which was languishing in a worrying ninth place in Serie A. As a result, the Special One was thanked this Tuesday.

A logical decision despite the satisfactory passage of the Portuguese coach who will have extracted the best from a group not necessarily cut to compete with the transalpine leaders. With 44 wins, 23 draws and 29 defeats in 96 league matches with La Louve, the 60-year-old tactician has an average of 1.61 points per match. A record which places him at the bottom of the ladder of Roma coaches with more than 50 matches since the 1995-1996 season according to Opta. A statistic which will add grist to the mill of José Mourinho’s detractors.
