Those executives feel Osimhen is a player closer to the style of Karim Benzema, who won the Ballon d’Or in his final season at the club before making a surprise move to the Saudi Pro League. Furthermore, Osimhen is more suited to the way Real Madrid play football and the club’s profile than Mbappé, who dangled a potential free transfer to the Blancos 18 months ago before signing a new deal with PSG.
These senior Bernabeu officials believe the money reportedly spent on Mbappé, who commands a huge salary and massive potential signing bonuses that likely exceed most transfer fees Real Madrid have ever paid, would be better invested in a transaction for Osimhen.
