Former PSG legend Luis Fernandez believes Kylian Mbappé will stay at the club this summer.

Kylian Mbappé’s contract at PSG expires at the end of the season and it is widely believed that he will eventually join Real Madrid on a free transfer. Twice in the past, the Bondynois was ready to join Madrid, before changing his mind at the last minute and staying at PSG.

Fernandez, former player and coach of Paris, has his clear opinion on the question: “Yes, (I think) he will stay at PSG. When I hear everyone’s statements, from the president of PSG who takes the initiative and speaks about the subject, when I see Kylian doing the same after a match about a signed agreement, when I see that PSG wants invest in this new technical center“, Fernandez told bein Sports.

“We brought in Randal, Kolo Muani and Dembele, who are friends that Kylian wanted to have by his side. I think he will stay at PSG next season.” The Madrid side remain cautiously optimistic about the possibility of signing the Frenchman on a free transfer, but are under no illusions, having been burned several times in the past when the striker’s previous contracts expired.

Last summer, Mbappé reached an agreement with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi to waive more than 100 million euros in loyalty bonuses. In exchange, PSG agreed that the star would return to play with the team for this final season. His contract expires in Paris in six months.
