Former OM player and coach, Didier Deschamps wishes PSG to win the Champions League this year.

It’s a statement that risks making people cringe in Canebière… Winner of the Champions League with Olympique de Marseille in 1993, before becoming the coach of Ciel et Blanc between 2009 and 2012, Didier Deschamps wishes Paris Saint-Germain to experience the emotions of a final victory in C1 this season or the following ones.

“Every year it’s year or never until they can win it. It will end up happening at one point or another, that’s what I hope for them, even if the Marseillais are not going to be happy. It’s important for French football”declared the coach of the France team for the Téléfoot program this Sunday morning.

A good year for PSG?

Since the arrival of QSI at the head of the capital club in 2011, PSG has dreamed of lifting the most prestigious European cup. If the residents of the Parc des Princes came very close to the goal in 2020, with a final lost against Bayern Munich (1-0), they remain on two eliminations in a row in the round of 16. This year, after a narrow qualification during the last day of the group stage, the Parisians will meet Real Sociedad in the round of 16.
