A Saudi Arabian club is reportedly pushing to recruit Renan Lodi, the Brazilian defender for OM. An opportunity for the Marseille club to relieve, in some way, its financial situation.
Renan Lodi is obviously expensive for OM. The Provençal club recruited him last summer from Atlético de Madrid for 13 million euros and they no longer want the 25-year-old player, six months later.
The Brazilian left back (19 caps) would be the subject of advanced negotiations between OM and Al-Hilal, a club where his compatriots Neymar and Malcom play in particular.
According to Italian sources, the Saudi Arabian club could complete the deal by Monday. Al-Hilal would then pay 20 million euros, which corresponds to the current value of Renan Lodi on the specialized platform Transfermarkt.
In the event of Lodi’s departure at this price, 30% would be paid to Atlético de Madrid, or 6 million euros. OM would recover 14, an important figure for an Olympian club still on eggshells in terms of financial situation.
