FC Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong is rubbing his hands at the thought of returning to Real Madrid in Saudi Arabia.
De Jong and Barça pumped up
The two tenors of Spanish football are used to facing each other in La Liga. But, this time, it is in the Super Cup and on foreign soil that they find themselves. The competition is of less importance but the motivation remains high in both camps.
De Jong spoke before the game and expressed his enthusiasm: “It’s a high-level match, with two great teams. We will do everything to win the final. We are doing well, we have won several matches in a row. We won two to zero against Osasuna, a very difficult rival to beat.”
The Dutchman also admitted that it was more exciting to play Real rather than Atlético. “ These are the most beautiful matches to play. We have a lot of confidence and we can show that we are a good team.”
As a reminder, last season, Real and Barça had already faced each other in the Super Cup final and it was the Blaugrana who had the last word. De Jong and others would obviously sign for a similar scenario on Sunday.
