AS Rome is having a rather paradoxical season. Far from being calm in their game, the Giallorossi are in eighth place which only places them four points behind Fiorentina, fourth. And given the Roman squad and the brilliant CV of José Mourinho, frustration persists towards the capital club which could do better and which will be expected in the second half of the season in Serie A. The match against AC Milan this Sunday (8:45 p.m.) will allow us to really gauge what this team is capable of for the future.

Questioned at a press conference just before this crucial meeting, José Mourinho also made an exit which he alone has the secret to defend his group: “we had two difficult moments: at the beginning and today, but now we are four points from the Champions League. We have a small group of players, it’s a real difficulty. Criticizing is good, but you can’t forget the difficulties we have, it’s crazy. If people want to ignore this situation, that’s not right. I defend the group, including people who are not performing at an acceptable level. This is a group of serious people, who work and suffer. We still have the championship, we are four points from a goal which, if it were not ours, would be considered impossible. We have the most incredible supporters I have seen in my life, they think I am José Mourinho Potter and they raise the level of demand and expectation. I will be in the stands in an environment where I am not welcome, we are going there with everything we have and with the certainty that the boys will give everything.»
