In an interview with Téléfoot, the 24-year-old Kylian Mbappé was questioned about his future with Paris Saint-Germain amidst swirling rumors of a potential move to Real Madrid in the summer. The topic of the France captain’s future continues to captivate not just French football, but the global audience as fans eagerly await Mbappé’s decision for the summer of 2024. Although his contract at the Parc des Princes expires in 2024, he does have the option of a one-year extension.
In June, Mbappé had already made it clear to PSG that he would not be exercising the option to extend his contract with the club until 2025. Reports since then have linked him to Real Madrid and Liverpool, but have also indicated that a contract extension with Les Parisiens is still a possibility.
When asked about his future by Téléfoot, Mbappé stated, “It’s something I don’t want to talk about, especially since I already did it in June and it took up a big part of the international break,” adding, “I want us to talk more about the national team, rather than me talking about something that will be resolved one day, so there will be time to talk about that.”
Mbappé’s future has been a major topic of discussion during the international break, but the forward remains elusive on the subject. Nevertheless, he has not allowed the speculation to affect his performances on the pitch, as evidenced by his hat-trick and two assists in Les Bleus’ record-breaking 14-0 victory against Gibraltar.
