According to the Paris town hall, the plan of the Qatari leaders of PSG for a future far from the Parc des Princes is “absurd”.

Faced with the refusal of the city of Paris to sell the Parc des Princes to QSI, PSG is simply threatening to leave the capital to establish itself in the suburbs. Absurd, even impossible according to Emmanuel Grégoire, first deputy to the mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo. “ I do not believe it is politically or legally feasible to build a new stadium near Paris. », proclaims the latter, relayed this Friday by Le Parisien.

According to Emmanuel Grégoire, PSG’s move is “ an option which, if it were to succeed, would take at least ten years “. And to recall the occupation contract which binds the club and the city of Paris until 2043. So “ the absurd hypothesis for PSG of not using the Park for the men’s team… » That being said, while Nasser Al-Khelaïfi was recently moved by the situation on RMC, a desire to renew dialogue does indeed exist.

A long-term lease envisaged

We always made sure to reach out. We have proposals to make so that the club, even if it does not buy the Parc des Princes, can capitalize on its investments. We must establish a working framework without prerequisites, without ultimatums. » And Pierre Rabadan insists in his capacity as municipal councilor: “ We want to get people talking to each other! »

The idea of the Paris town hall is to push PSG to sign a long-term rental lease – potentially up to 99 years – accompanied by a moderate rent to allow PSG to push the walls and carry out the modernization work desired locations. “ This is what is done at Roland-Garrosnotes Emmanuel Grégoire. The French Tennis Federation is making investments of 490 million euros there, but it is rented for such a long period, around 50 years, that they are amortized. The investments that PSG would make would in any case be exhausted in thirty years, after which they will have to be made again. Its interests would therefore be guaranteed. »

And the first deputy concluded: “ Selling is a choice for eternity. Renting it guarantees that the Park remains a football stadium, the PSG stadium. We are all passing through. We are the modest custodians of a long history. We are proposing a solution which does not prevent the sporting development of PSG, and at the same time which allows the Parc des Princes to remain part of the common heritage. »
