Another hard blow for Barça

Released during the game against Osasuna on Thursday, Raphinha has a thigh injury and will miss the Spanish Super Cup final against Real Madrid.

Thursday evening, the FC Barcelona got their ticket to the final of the Spanish Super Cup by eliminating Osasuna (2-0) thanks to goals from Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal. But on Sunday, Xavi will be deprived of one of his starters, who came out during the match.

In the 42nd minute, Raphinha in fact gave way to Lamine Yamal following hamstring discomfort, as the Catalan technician mentioned after the meeting. But the press release published by the club this Friday is not really reassuring since it mentions a muscle injury. “Tests carried out today (Friday) showed that Raphinha is suffering from a hamstring injury in his left thigh. He is absent and his recovery will determine his availability”we can read in this press release.

This absence is added to a long list of injured players which includes Gavi, Marc-André Ter Stegen, Marcos Alonso, Joao Cancelo and Inigo Martinez.
