Nigeria have lost a new player to injury as the AFCON kick-off approaches.

The massacre continues for Nigeria. After losing Victor Boniface to a groin injury, the Super Eagles have just announced Umar Sadiq’s withdrawal from the African Cup of Nations. Hit in a knee, the Real Sociedad striker was replaced by Paul Onuachu, who plays for Trabzonspor. A new hard blow which adds to the loss of Wilfred Ndidi.

As a reminder, Nigeria will begin the CAN with a match against Equatorial Guinea on January 14. They will then face the host country, Ivory Coast, then Guinea-Bissau.
