Liverpool are still interested in signing Kylian Mbappé and could beat Real Madrid to the acquisition of the Paris Saint-Germain star.
PSG have signed Mbappé on a six-month contract, who is set to be the subject of a new transfer saga. The French player is open to negotiations with foreign clubs and Real Madrid are considered his most likely destination. PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, however, remains confident in his ability to keep the star at the club beyond the summer of 2024, as he declared on Tuesday that the Ligue 1 champions had an “agreement” with the French star.
Liverpool don’t give up
The Team reports that Liverpool could further spice up the ongoing transfer battle as they have not given up on the idea of signing the France team captain. The 25-year-old is reportedly unhappy with Los Blancos’ decision to set his transfer deadline in mid-January. This could prompt the player to give up on joining Spain and choose the Premier League giants as his next club.
For now, the former Monaco player remains focused on his club as the reigning French champions prepare to face Lens in a Ligue 1 clash on Sunday. They will then face Orléans in the Coupe de France a week later.
