PSG midfielder Manuel Ugarte knows he has not been up to the task in his team’s recent matches.
Manuel Ugarte was the attraction at the start of the PSG season. But since then, the former Sporting player has fallen into line a little. A drop in yield that he does not deny. On the contrary, he takes full responsibility for it.
Ugarte aware of his shortcomings
Interviewed by BeIn Sports, Ugarte admitted that he was not at his best and that he is doing everything to correct the situation. “The first part of my six months in Paris was better than the second. The second was not easy on a personal level. But I’m doing everything to come back. I am aware of having been less well. You have to work but I have everything to succeed.”
Without making excuses, he also highlights some extenuating circumstances that could explain his poor form: “It all happened too quickly for me. Three years ago I was in Uruguay and today I am in a top team. I also need to settle down and become aware of where I am. In a team with a lot of quality and I have to learn too.”

He promises to bounce back
With the support of the fans, Ugarte is sure that things will get better and better during the second half of the season. “I can never thank the fans enough, did he declare. I am aware that I am not like at the start of the season. My game is 100% but I have had pain, a drop in performance, but I remain confident with the assurance of getting back in shape. Because I’m mentally good and I’m training well.”
The Uruguay international then assured that he did not mind finding himself on the bench. “I live it well, he thundered. In a team as big as Paris, with very high quality players, each of us has the profile to play in any position. In this club, everyone can doubt and find themselves on the bench. It’s healthy competition that raises the level of the team.”
