This season, Real Madrid is facing a massacre. Thibaut Courtois, Eder Militão and David Alaba have ruptured their cruciate ligaments, and their season is over. Thus, Merengue coach Carlo Ancelotti must tinker in defense between injuries, suspensions and management of his squad. To do this, he notably moved midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni (23) back into the axis of defense alongside Antonio Rüdiger in particular, as he was able to do with Eduardo Camavinga at left-back.

However, the Italian technician announced at a press conference that it was temporary and that he will no longer play as central defender. “Tchouaméni is a pivot (midfielder, editor’s note), it is only in an emergency that he will be central. In the next match in central defense, it will be Nacho. Mendy comes back tomorrow. Then my job is to choose the best eleven.”, assured Carlo Ancelotti. The main person concerned, who did not necessarily appreciate his new role, should take the news well.
