The long legal battle started by Juventus in the Calciopoli affair ends with yet another hard blow for the Turin club. After having waived the last appeal before the Council of State, Juventus will indeed have to pay the legal costs incurred by the opposing parties. The Bianconeri, as established by the Council of State, will have to compensate both Inter and the FIGC: “Considering that with the brief notified and filed on October 13, 2023, also signed by the legal representative of Juventus Football Club SpA, the applicant declared to waive the appeal, requesting reimbursement of procedural costs”
But how much should Juventus pay Inter and the FIGC? The Italian Council of State, ruling definitively on the appeal, took note of the waiver of appeal indicated and therefore ordered the Juventus club to pay the costs relating to this judgment, which are settled at the amount of 5 million euros in favor of each of the counterparties noted, namely Inter Milan and the Italian Football Federation (FIGC).
