A former great Liverpool player has advised the prestigious English club to bet on French star Kylian Mbappé.
The Liverpool club “should be interested” in Kylian Mbappé and can compete with Real Madrid for the signing of the Bondyn crack. This is what Gary McAllister, a former great Reds player, believes.
“Liverpool should position themselves on Mbappé”
Mbappé is on the verge of becoming a free player, given that he only has six months left on his contract in Paris. This week, he assured that he did not yet know the next step in his career. A move to Real has been on the cards for some time, but the Liverpool option cannot be ruled out.
McAllister explained to Boylesports why a move to Anfield wouldn’t be completely ridiculous for the 2018 world champion: “I think clubs like Liverpool should always be there when a global superstar like Kylian Mbappé becomes available. If there is an opportunity, and if Mbappé’s contract is in line with the budgets and the way the club is run, then Liverpool should be interested as far as I’m concerned. Jurgen Klopp’s style is offensive and frontal, and it would suit Mbappé.
“The top five or six clubs in the world will always want to be involved when a player of that caliber becomes available, and Liverpool are in that group, added the Scotsman. Over the past few years, people have said that the next step for Mbappe is Real Madrid, but the Liverpool link has also existed. Liverpool were also in the running when Jude Bellingham was available. I don’t see why they couldn’t enlist Mbappé if the deal suited them”.
Mbappé has already admitted to speaking with Liverpool about his future plans as it is his mother Faiza’s favorite club. This is why we cannot rule out a signing with the six-time European champions.
