The coach of the Racing Club de Lens, Franck Haise, provided important details on the winter transfer window of the Artesian club.
After an intense first part of the season, marked in particular by a satisfactory return to the European scene, the Racing Club de Lens is approaching the rest of this 2023-24 campaign with ambition. Reverted to the Europa League, placed back in Ligue 1, the Sang et Or are at the dawn of an exciting year.
In this context, will RC Lens be active on the transfer market during this month of January? Franck Haise does not see much interest in it. Present in front of the press this Friday, the French technician suggested that the club should not do anything crazy this winter, although reinforcements are being considered for one or two positions.
Lens, one or two targeted recruits
“ There are lots of ways to look at the transfer window. In general, in winter, we talk about an adjustment transfer window, he recalled. We are not here to change 30 or 40% of the workforce. There is this question of absentees, linked to international competitions. But these players will not miss 6 months of competition with us. Another thing, we sign a player for 4 and a half months but if he lacks playing time and he is a player who needs to be relaunched… And I’m not talking to you about the prices which are always a little higher at this period. But that does not prevent us from having the desire in one position, maybe two, to work on the short term, but also on the medium term. If we can find a player we all agree on, we’ll do it“, however, concluded the Lensois coach.
