Girona is the big surprise in La Liga this season. Barça’s little neighbor struck another blow yesterday by beating Atlético de Madrid in a grandiose match (4-3). This success allows him to join Real Madrid at the top of La Liga with ten points ahead of his two closest pursuers, namely the Colchoneros and the Culés. Everything seems to be going well for the Manchester City satellite club, even if, inevitably, this success attracts attention.

Michel, the Girona coach, is starting to be courted, as evidenced by the OL rumor which was quickly swept aside. Supporters may even fear a departure in the coming months since the co-owner of the club, a certain Pere Guardiola (brother of Pep), assures that he will not oppose it, quite the contrary in fact. “He is the master of his future. He deserved it. I assure you that if he has an offer from Bayern Munich and he has a contract with Girona, I will take him by car to Munich. What he did in Girona gave us something to be grateful for forever. He could have made a career by reaching the European top 7 elsewhere but he chose to do it with us” he says in an interview with Relevo.
